Smagua cierra sus puertas tras recibir a más de 20.000 visitantes

La modernización del regadío centró la clausura, a la que acudieron 700 usuarios. La Feria de Zaragoza ha sido el escaparate para exhibir productos de más de 540 marcas. La vigésima tercera edición del Salón Internacional del Agua y del Riego, Smagua, cerró ayer sus puertas tras recibir a más 20.000 visitantes en la Feria de Zaragoza, donde tuvo lugar durante tres días. La modernización del regadío, aspecto en el que España es referente internacional, centró la actividad de la última jornada, con la presencia de más de 700 usuarios.

El sector apuesta por Smagua y así lo ha hecho saber a lo largo de las tres jornadas en las que ha estado abierto el salón, en el que se ha puesto de manifiesto la importancia de la innovación y la cultura del agua para el desarrollo de la sociedad. La cita ha tenido además una presencia internacional importante, que se ha visto traducida tanto en el número de expositores de fuera de Aragón como de visitantes y compradores de casi 20 nacionalidades.

Así, Smagua ha finalizado con un balance positivo, en el que ha destacado la presencia de 20.050 profesionales vinculados con el sector de las soluciones hídricas y el riego. Desde el pasado 7 de marzo, los pabellones 3 y 4 de la Feria de Zaragoza han sido el escaparate para exhibir los productos de más de 540 marcas, de las que 330 proceden de fuera de España. Todas estas cifras relanzan el papel de Zaragoza como capital «indiscutible» del agua y el riego a nivel nacional e internacional, apunta la organización en un comunicado. En menos de un año, la institución que preside Manuel Teruel ha reunido a más de 55.000 visitantes de 47 países, un total de 81 jornadas técnicas y actividades paralelas relacionadas con el agua y el riego o 38 novedades presentadas por 27 empresas expositoras. Además, 1.200 marcas han mostrado sus productos y más de 170 delegaciones de compradores internacionales han tenido en Smagua su mayor centro de negocio.

Smagua también ha contado con un amplio respaldo institucional. El presidente del Gobierno de Aragón, Javier Lambán, junto al alcalde de Zaragoza, Pedro Santisteve, el delegado del Gobierno en Aragón, Gustavo Alcalde, la secretaria de Estado de Medio Ambiente del Ministerio de Agricultura, María García, o la viceministra de Agricultura y Riego de Perú, Sina Santa María, han visitado el certamen. Ayer fue el secretario general de Agricultura, Carlos Cabanas, el encargado de clausurar el foro de regantes organizado por Ferebro.

En la agenda de ayer destacó el día del regante que, organizado por la Federación de Regantes de la Cuenca del Ebro, congregó a más de 700 personas en el auditorio para tratar la modernización del regadío y la producción alimentaria.

Carlos Cabanas destacó que «la producción agrícola española nos hace estar a la cabeza de Europa en cuanto a exportación». Además, subrayó que el regadío «multiplica por cuatro su producción frente al secano». En este sentido, afirmó que el Ministerio de Agricultura ha contribuido a modernizar 1,5 millones de hectáreas en quince años con un coste de 3.000 millones de euros. Para el secretario general, la modernización del regadío es fundamental para «mejorar la rentabilidad, bajar el consumo y aumentar la superficie».
